Synopsis: The “intervallo” in the Rai schedule was an empty space between one transmission and another filled with music and images.
Inter-vàllum, from the Latin inter “between” and vàllus “pole”, from which vàllum palisade, describes the empty space between one and the other pole; (by extension) space between two terms of time or place.
Intervallo is the void perceived by the City in 2020 during the lockdown caused by Covid19.
Here INTERVALLO becomes the indefinite and permeable space where the real city (of architecture, water, sounds and reflections) and its memory mix and confuse into a single idea of Venice.

This project of exhibition and book is born from the unique opportunity that Ugo Carmeni's photographic works represent to be able to illustrate in a single context some significant installations of the Venice Biennale of Art and Architecture from 2012 to 2019. A virtual journey to observe together and compare, for the first time, the different artistic moments that have taken place over the years in some pavilions. In fact, through this careful selection of some in-depth reports by the artist, it is possible to make a virtual journey and for the first time observe together and compare the different artistic moments that have taken place over the years in some pavilions.
